We are also committed to ongoing in-house training and extramural study, and encourage all staff to further their knowledge and understanding of horticultural trends and developments. This includes a commitment to an environmentally balanced approach to garden management. Garden and grounds care/management can involve a great deal of emotion. Owners and users often feel strongly attached to their gardens and grounds. We share this passion and you can be assured Bark Ltd will look after your garden assets as if they were our own. Profile: Kerei Thompson – Company DirectorIn 1991 Kerei began operations in the private sector, forming a limited liability company which, since 1994, has traded as Bark Limited. From start-up, Kerei has overseen the steady growth of the company to the point where, today, it employs over 40 people and operates in both the Auckland and Wellington regions. As the company has grown, Kerei has ensured the highest standards of service and best trade practice are maintained. This unwavering commitment has earned Bark Ltd the reputation of being an industry leader in quality and performance. To retain that reputation, Kerei and his team constantly seek fresh ways to improve the management of the gardens and landscapes entrusted to their care. Bark has earned the reputation for delivering quality garden management, in a diverse range of properties such as Government House Garden, Parliament and large scale private estates - three of which hold National Garden of Significance status. The company has also won prestigious industry awards for its management and care of some of these gardens. Kerei became an assessor for the New Zealand Gardens Trust in 2005, and went on to further his involvement as a trustee in 2007. Kerei sees the privileged position of assessor as an opportunity to visit gardens nationwide, further developing and strengthening his knowledge of gardens and garden design. While Kerei’s role has changed as the company has grown, his passion for the industry and his determination to maintain and enhance Bark’s enviable reputation through performance, remains the same.
